Czech landmark

Vimperk is a historic small town in the south-west of the Czech Republic. The South Bohemian town lies close to the German-Austrian border and became famous in the Middle Ages for its glassworks and book printing, and later for its textile industry and furniture production. The town's landmark is Vimperk Castle, which now houses a museum and has recently been extensively restored. An important part of the restoration is also the modernisation of the Securiton fire alarm system.

Vimperk Castle is a Renaissance castle from the middle of the thirteenth century in the town of Vimperk in South Bohemia. The chateau passed through the hands of many noble families and was last renovated in 1857 due to a lightning strike. When it became the property of the town of Vimperk in 1948 and was purchased by the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic in 1991, the castle was in a very poor condition due to a lack of maintenance.

To prevent further damage, a SecuriPro fire alarm system from Securiton was installed in 2010/2011. In January 2015, the castle became part of the National Heritage Institute and the first renovations and extensive reconstructions began. The upper part of the castle, with a wooden ceiling from the first half of the 17th century, Renaissance paintings and two castle chapels, was restored between 2019 and 2021. Further renovation work is currently taking place while the castle and museum can continue to operate undisturbed. The old fire alarm system is gradually being replaced under the management of long-standing local business partner Tribase Networks s.r.o. All renovated areas will be continuously equipped with SecuriFire, the latest and most modern fire alarm system from Securiton. Hundreds of combined SecuriStar MCD 573X detectors detect heat or smoke from a developing fire. Vimperk Castle can therefore continue to rely on the absolutely reliable Securiton fire alarm system and is effectively protected against fire.
