Argentinian administrative centre
Fire protection for newly built administrative centre.
A newly built administrative centre in north-east Argentina is setting architectural standards in the region. It was constructed according to strict environmental guidelines and aims to serve as a role model for energy efficiency and sustainable urban development. In terms of fire safety measures, the building owners have placed their trust in the outstanding quality provided by Securiton.
The 34,000 m2 construction project in Corrientes in the north-east was developed according to LEED standards. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is an internationally recognised green building classification system that certifies buildings according to their ecological footprint upon their environment. It defines a range of criteria for environmentally friendly, resource-conserving and sustainable construction. The complex makes a major contribution to local development and houses three buildings: the Institute of Social Work (IOSCor), the province’s Institute of Social Security (IPS), and the Bank of Corrientes (BanCo). Occupying an entire block of the city of Corrientes in an urban area with great potential for development, the complex meets criteria in terms of energy efficiency, the quality and comfort of facilities for users, and the provision of spacious green areas and squares.
Each of the three buildings is equipped with a Securiton SecuriFire 3000 fire detection and fire alarm system. The hundreds of SecuriStar MCD 573X combined smoke and heat detectors fitted are designed to detect fires in their incipient stage. Particularly sensitive or large rooms are equipped with highly reliable special fire detectors, including intelligent SecuriHeat ADW 535 line-type heat detectors and SecuriSmoke ASD aspirating smoke detectors, both of which ensure reliable early fire detection.
