Cold storage facility

Magnavale is one of the largest cold storage companies in central England. At its three sites near Manchester and Sheffield, meat and vegetable products are frozen and stored thanks to suitable processes in each case. In the cold storage rooms, special fire detectors from Securiton ensure the best possible protection.

Magnavale specializes in blast freezing and cold storage of meat and vegetable products at its three sites in Chesterfield, Scunthorpe and Warrington. As a key cog in Central England's food supply chain, the company offers freezing of goods as well as storage of products in cold rooms with space for up to 200,000 pallets.

With British partner Patol Limited, with whom Securiton has already worked successfully on numerous projects, the cold stores were equipped with the ideal fire detection system for such premises: SecuriSmoke ASD 535 aspirating smoke detectors. The cold storage buildings operate at temperatures as low as -20°degrees Celsius, which presents a particular challenge for fire protection systems. One of the most important factors in Magnavale's choice of fire protection solution is the ability of the ASD detectors to operate at sub-zero temperatures down to -30°C. This is obviously a decisive argument in these freezer rooms.
